Eddy Winyard is a farmer in Lake King, Western Australia, 450km Southeast of Perth. He manages his 3,000-hectare family farm with his wife and children and is solely a cropping enterprise including wheat and canola.
Eddy describes Lake King as very rocky country and he purchased the Highline Rock Picker after trialing older rock picker models on neighbouring farms.
I had used older models before on a friend’s farm and they were good. This new model is really really good, and it is so easy to use.

Eddy also pointed out that it has been extremely difficult for him to find farm staff in the current COVID environment, especially for routine tasks such as rock picking. Since purchasing the Highline Rock Picker, he said that he, or one of his family members, could now take on the task themselves.
It’s hard to find staff for rock picking generally and with COVID it’s near impossible. The Highline Rock Picker’s simple and quick operation means we can now do the picking ourselves.
The Highline NT Rock Picker has a two-position hitch design which enables the machine to be in full view during operation, with the entire picking width outside the tractor tracks. The rock picker also features a hydraulic motor to drive the reel for a smoother operation with an industry-exclusive gearbox and reduced grease nipples. Eddy highlighted these were key features for him.
The drawbar visibility is fantastic and having reduced grease nipples allows for a much simpler service. It was important for me to find a quality rock picker that could withstand harsh conditions and last for years. Highline was the standout for me, and it has proven to be a strong, premium product.
